In order to plot out a route to reconciliation between traditional Christians and the LGBT community, we need to understand the deep-seated beliefs and perspectives from both sides that cause us to react and respond the way we do. This meeting is the first in a series of discussions where we will lay out on the table our assumptions about one another and our core beliefs. In effect, we're taking part in a reconnaissance mission to get to know the people on the other side. The intelligence we gather, however, won't be used to perpetuate the culture war, but to end it.

Matthew will also be providing a brief overview of "The Second Guess" as things currently stand, including values and immediate, short-term, and long-term goals.

We don't expect the conversation to be comfortable or easy for anyone - but we do expect mutual respect. We can have an honest dialogue when we approach the subject in humility and, for those of us who pray, prayer.
