We call it a culture war, this predicament involving America's LGBT communities and her mainline evangelical churches. A war of ideals, fueled by deep-seated beliefs on both sides - a relentless grip on what each respectively holds as the truth.

But there are those on both sides who are tired of fighting. We see how the language and mindset of war breed bitterness, and we're standing on opposites sides of a battlefield we don't believe in.

The Second Guess is about rethinking the approach that the church and gay communities have taken toward one another. It's about being humble enough to admit when we're wrong, and hopeful enough to work together toward a solution. It's about acts of reconciliation and the path of forgiveness.

Based in San Diego, The Second Guess is a network of people and resources committed to conversation. We provide forums for churches and LGBT people to meet together in a safe and neutral space, where all questions are allowed.
